Does Your Child…

😭

Cry without being able to explain why?

😤

Get frustrated over small things and shut down?

🤷

Struggle to put words to how they feel?

💥

Have meltdowns instead of conversations?

You're not failing as a parent.
Your child simply hasn't been given the words yet.

The Science of Words

Why Emotional Vocabulary Matters

The words children have for their feelings directly shape what they do with those feelings. This is not soft parenting — it is neuroscience.

😢 Without words
Feeling arises
Cry
Tantrum
Shutdown
vs
💜 With words
"I'm disappointed."
Conversation
Connection
Problem-solving
The Challenge

Big Feelings.
Small Vocabulary.

Toddlers and preschoolers often feel frustrated, angry, worried, or overwhelmed — before they have the words to explain what's happening inside. Without language, those feelings become behaviour.

"Emotional literacy is one of the most important skills we can give a child — and it starts with helping them name what they feel."

How It Works

Four steps to emotional clarity

😊

Name the Feeling

Explore 12 core emotions through expressive, inclusive characters children can relate to.

🧍

Find It in the Body

Body maps help children understand where feelings show up physically — tummy butterflies, a racing heart, wobbly legs.

💡 Why body maps? Research shows that helping children notice where emotions are felt in their bodies significantly strengthens emotional awareness and supports self-regulation.
🌬️

Learn to Cope

Every page offers 3 simple, illustrated coping strategies children can actually use in the moment.

🔁

Practice Together

Use it every bedtime. The repetition builds emotional vocabulary naturally over weeks and months.

Why It Works

Built for real-life emotional learning

The Learning Path

Step 1: Emotion
Step 2: Body Sensation
Step 3: Response

Unlike traditional flashcards, the Feelings Flip Kit connects emotion to body awareness to action — creating deeper emotional understanding and lasting life skills.

The Dina & Lana Framework

Three Principles at the Heart of Everything We Do

01

Name It

Children can't express what they can't identify. Every emotion in the kit has a name, a face, and a clear description.

02

Understand It

Feelings show up in the body before they become behaviour. Body maps make the invisible visible.

03

Navigate It

Children can learn healthy ways to respond to emotions. Coping strategies give them tools, not just awareness.

Our Story

Created by a Mother.
Guided by Research.

Humaira Hadzarami with her daughters

"Inspired by evidence-based parenting approaches and over 4 years of studying emotional development, psychology, and early childhood learning — after stepping away from my corporate career to be fully present with my daughters, I realised the world needed something better."

Certified in Everyday Parenting: The ABCs of Child Rearing

Yale University · Department of Psychology

I wanted to raise children who could recognise their emotions, communicate their needs, and navigate life's challenges with confidence. When I couldn't find a tool that combined emotional literacy, body awareness, and practical coping skills in a way young children could understand — I decided to create one.
